an exercise in letting go

After writing a letter on the back of the cards, I walked along the edge of the street, placing a lit candle on each one.

After reaching the end of the street, I retraced my steps, and picked up each card, offering it to the audience.

Cards not claimed with the audience were burnt.

Because of the wind and rain, candles only stayed lit for a moment, and the cards could only be singed.
